More photos from my father's trip to Puerto Rico with the National Guards in 1972. I don't have much insightful to add, other than that I love monkeys.I'm not sure who that is in the third slide here, but I assume it's someone else with the Guards.

A slide-scanning project. There are boxes and boxes of family slides in the basement. This could take a long time.
In 1972 my father went on a National Guard trip to Puerto Rico and took these photos showing El Morro fort in Old San Juan.El Morro, officially known as Fuerte San Felipe del Morro, sits atop a high promontory overlooking the entrance to San Juan Bay. It is the result of the efforts of many different Spanish engineers over a period of more than 200 years and is one of the largest forts built by the Spaniards in the Caribbean. My father told me they flew in to Ramey Air Force Base (and, I'm guessing, stayed there). The Wikipedia entry on Ramey can be found here: Ramey Air Force Base

EDIT: My father tells me that this third slide was taken of some abandoned buildings not far from Ramey AFB.
